Board of Directors

The Colorado Front Range Buffalo Soldiers, a recently minted 501(c)3, has elected their founding Board of Directors who are busily establishing the organizational structure and donor development, all the while booking the reGEN team appearances at schools and historical/community events throughout Colorado.

Founder & Founding Chairman
Terrance Beasley

Terrance D. Beasley, who served over twenty-seven years in the U.S. Army, continues to serve those around him as a retired disabled veteran. After completing an honorable career as a Medical Service Corps Officer on December 1, 2020, he, his wife Laurie, and their five children made Monument, Colorado, home, where they actively participate in their community. Passionate about youth sports, Terrance has coached Tri-Lakes YMCA teams since relocating to the area in 2020. He also coached high school boys’ football for numerous seasons at Lewis Palmer High School and volunteered to help start the charter Lewis Palmer High School girls’ flag football team. From 2022 to 2025, Terrance served as Treasurer for Remount Foundation, an equine-assisted learning program that provides suicide-prevention support to active-duty military, veterans, and their families. He currently serves as Treasurer for the Tri-Lakes Foundation for First Responders, an effort to engage the community for resources to support first responders and their families. Terrance is also a charter member of Tri-Lakes Dynamic Rotary Club and is very active with the Warm Hugs Coat Drive, Santa on Patrol Toy Drive, and the Fire Mitigation efforts of the organization. Terrance is deeply dedicated to preserving African American heritage, especially as it relates to the Buffalo Soldiers’ crucial role in American history. His work aims to ensure their legacy reaches a broad audience, reflecting the meaningful impact of service in pursuit of national expansion and unity.

Founding Secretary
Betina Tacoronte

Betina Tacoronte, Founding Secretary for Front Range Buffalo Soldiers, is a passionate horse rescuer, trainer, and advocate dedicated to saving neglected and unwanted horses, particularly in Colorado. Her journey began with a deep love for horses, fostered through her early experiences in barrel racing and her work with families and communities to promote equine knowledge.

Despite facing marginalization within the equestrian industry, Betina’s perseverance and resilience, encouraged by her father, propelled her to stand firm in her commitment. In 2013, she founded the Next.Step Horse Rescue on her ranch, Amazing Grace, where she and a team of volunteers have rescued and rehabilitated nearly 3,000 horses. Betina has a special love for the Appaloosa breed and owns 17 of these unique horses.  She actively competes in Western events, is a member of the Extreme Cowboy Association (EXCA), and aims to learn Western dressage.

Betina is committed to education and cultural awareness, advocating for African American representation in the horse industry and promoting the history of the Buffalo Soldiers through her involvement with the Front Range Buffalo Soldiers. She also established Spot On Horse Training, focusing on equine behavior and management, and continues to inspire others through her work. Betina remains passionate about training, educating, and saving both horses and people. She firmly believes that her efforts have opened many doors, transforming her life into a lifestyle dedicated to making a positive difference in the equine community.

Founding Treasurer
Laurie Beasley

Laurie Beasley began her Human Resources career with Aramark in Philadelphia, PA, spending over a decade in diverse HR leadership roles across correctional facilities and higher education institutions, advising business leaders and supporting hourly employees. She also served as Talent Acquisition Director, providing strategic leadership to her team.

Following multiple cross-country moves in support of her husband’s military career, Laurie transitioned into the education field—teaching students from elementary school through college level.

Today, Laurie serves as Human Resources Director and Consultant for Empirical Consulting Solutions, where she partners with small to mid-sized companies to address their HR needs. She also contributes her expertise as Operations Coordinator for Gabrielle’s Wings, a nonprofit dedicated to serving children of color in underserved communities.

Laurie holds a Master of Education in Human Resource Development from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Truman State University in Missouri.
